Family event by the community

“Live with Heritage”

Why not come to a Family event organised by the Japanese and Spanish communities in and around Edinburgh? We have food, dance, crafts, and a variety of Japanese things and Spanish things (Flyer). Have fun and enjoy sharing experiences, learning something new and discovering something in common!

8th June (Sat) 17.00 ~ 19.00
9th June (Sun) 11.00 ~ 15.00

Venue:The Cornerstone Centre St John’s, Princes Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4BJ

The first day has show and talk by the locals. The second day has Japanese things, Spanish things to try, learn and have fun. 

Free Admission. No booking is required.

Just drop-in.

Saturday 8th June : Show and Talk by the locals
17:00     Opening the doors
17:10 – 17:40 <Show> Flamenco dance by the local group children
17:40 – 18:10 <Talk> A casual talk about culture and traditions of Japan
18:10 – 18:45 <Show> Games and plays by the Spanish schools in Edinburgh
19:00     Closing of the first day

Sunday 9th June : Japanese things. Spanish things.
11:00 – 15:00 Thematic tables throughout the day
≪Food≫  Sales stand for take away menu by Indaba (Spanish) & Miju (Japanese). Please note that they may sell only a limited number of sales items. First come, first served. Sales of Spanish Churros (local business). Posters of local/regional food in Japan and Spain.
≪Learning some… Trying on ….≫ Origami. String game. Some phrases and writing in Japanese/Spanish. Trying on Japanese costume, Yukata.
≪Geography, Arts and Customs≫
≪Local Businesses≫ Spanish artisanal jewelry. Cinemaatic.
